Discover Mekong Delta Tour 2 days – Cai Rang floating market

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh – Mekong Delta – overnight in Can Tho (Meal: lunch) Start the tour from Ho Chi Minh city and proceed to Mekong Delta. Take a boat trip along the river, seeing local people, orchard and fruit plantation. Getting on hand rowed sampan along canals where you can immerse yourself in nature Day 2: Cai Rang floating market – Ho Chi Minh city (Meals: Breakfast, lunch) Early visit Cai Rang floating market, wandering around the village to see the make noodle, orchard garden and try your best on bamboo bridge.

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City – Mekong Delta – overnight in Can Tho (Meal: lunch)
07.45 am, our tour guide and driver pick you up on request at your hotel that is located in backpacker areas (De Tham Street, Bui Vien Street, Pham Ngu Lao Street)m or in Ben Thanh areas (Le Thanh Ton Street, Thu Khoa Huan street, Ly Tu Trong street, Trương Đinh street, Bui Thi Xuan street). 

At 08.00 am, leave Ho Chi Minh City. It takes one hour and thirty minutes to drive to get to My Tho town. On the way, travelers will have a chance to see this beautiful landscape along the road such as the green rice fields, the peaceful Vam Co Dong river, and the busy Long An town. En route, Our bus will stop at Mekong rest stop where you can take a rest and see the bonsai garden.

Arrive to My Tho town, and visit Vinh Trang Pagoda the oldest ancient one in Southern Vietnam. Known as the largest pagoda and the most special architecture in the Mekong Delta. Its architecture was influenced by Vietnamese culture and Khmer culture as well as European architecture.

After visiting Vinh Trang Pagoda, our bus will take travelers to the pier boat for getting on a motorized boat. Take a leisurely boat ride in Tien river to enjoy fresh air, to see the peaceful life of the local people, Passing the stilt house, the fishing floating farm, the four Islands ( Dragon, Phoenix, Tortoise, Unicorn)

After passing Rach Mieu bridge, we disembark at Thoi Son Islet that located on Phoenix Island. Take a leisurely walk on the village paths, visit local people’s homes, and orchard gardens, and enjoy seasonal fruits while listening to traditional Southern folk music.

Then visit the honey bee farm and taste delicious honey tea with lemon that is really good for health. Local people also have python farms for those tourists, who like adventure and can take a photo with pythons.

Take a hand-rowed sampan through the creeks to sightsee the natural water coconut trees a symbol in the Delta areas.

Return to the motorized boat then cruise to Ben Tre province, and visit the coconut candy workshop to learn how to make delicious candies by hand.

Then cruising to Unicorn Island to visit a crocodile farm and visit the remains of Coconut belief.

Having lunch in the orchard garden. Do not forget to taste dried Ear Elephant fish which is one of the special dishes in the Mekong Delta (on the guest’s account)

After lunch, wander through the village paths to enjoy the fresh air and observe the pastoral life

Then take a short walk through the narrow village path to the bus and process to Can Tho city.

On the way, our tour guide will introduce to travelers the symbol of culture, dining, and entertainment places in Can Tho city.

Arrive to Can Tho city, and check-in at the standard hotel that has a hot shower, towers, mini bar, air conditioner, tivi, wifi, etc.. in each room.

Leisure in the evening for exploring Tay Do night market, Ninh Kieu Wharf or taste these delicious local dishes.

Arrive at Can Tho city. Transfer to a village in the Cai Rang district by motorized boat, you will meet a friendly local farmer’s house where you will stay the night at their house. In the late afternoon, wander around the village to see the orchard garden or chat with local people to experience the rural lifestyle of the Mekong Delta residents.

Have dinner with family and enjoy some of the traditional local cuisines. Overnight at farmer’s house.

Day 2: Can Tho City – Cai Rang floating market – Ho Chi Minh City (Meals: Breakfast, lunch)
At 07.00 am, boarding a motorized boat to the Cai Rang floating market. On the way, you can see many bustling activities along the Can Tho riverbanks. You have chance to know how local people go fishing and transport passengers as well as products by the waterway.

Approaching the Cai Rang floating market, you can reappear the selling activities in the past by using a traditional “offering pole” for exchanging consumer goods.

After exploring the floating market, visitors will visit the place to see how they make rice vermicelli noodles and the orchard garden. Wandering in the village and try your best to cross the bamboo bridge which is built only one bamboo tree. Cruise back to Ninh Kieu Wharf.

Return to Ho Chi Minh city. Lunch en route.

Arrive to Ho Chi Minh city around 17.00. End of the tour.
